Jade Felthoven.

I am a passionate, driven, pre-service teacher that appreciates every single chance I get to improve myself as an educator. I know that I am never going to be a perfect teacher; however, I know that I have the ability to take both failure and success in stride, always working toward bettering myself. I am adaptable and always ready for the next big project, whether that be a new social studies unit, a new extra-curricular activity, or a new collaborative relationship with my fellow educators. I would like my students to know that learning is never a straight line; education can be a difficult process for many, with setbacks and failures along the way, but that is okay! Resilience and kindness to yourself will be your greatest tool to success, and I hope to teach that every single day in my classroom. 

I have completed various pre-service field experiences at local Fort Collins middle schools in my time at Colorado State University. I also have acted as an off site high school Speech and Debate coach and a student worker in the Office of Financial Aid at CSU. One of my most valued experiences in college has been working as a student ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts, in which I have led campus tours, engaged in diversity and pre-professional training, and helped staff campus events with over 900 interested Rams attending! My future goals as an educator reach far and wide: I hope to someday teach abroad, gain my PhD in educational leadership, and maybe someday lead my students travel trips to help benefit their social studies education! Most of all, I want to empower my students. I believe that every single student I meet has the potential to create change and succeed. Just as much as I want to teach them social studies, I want to teach them a little bit about how to be a kind, upstanding person.
